Jessica Mauboy to Perform at Santos Tour Down Under

  • Written by Belinda Lindh

ARIA award winning artist Jessica Mauboy will headline the 2016 Santos Tour Down Under Team Presentation concert on the first day of the international cycling event on January 16 in Adelaide.

Jess Mauboy has sold more than two million albums and is widely recognised for her talent and fun and hard-working attitude, and will be the perfect fit for the Santos Tour Down Under concert.

The free concert will be held in the Adelaide City Council Tour Village in the redeveloped Victoria Square on January 16, following the Team Presentation.

Cycling legends Phil Liggett and Paul Sherwen will introduce the teams on-stage and interview all the crowd favourites, while fans will have the chance to officially welcome teams to South Australia as they are presented from 6pm. At the completion of the presentation, Jessica Mauboy will hit the stage performing all her crowd favourites.

Jessica Mauboy said she was looking forward to returning to South Australia.

“I always have a great time performing in South Australia as there is such a good vibe and I have heard only good things about the Santos Tour Down Under,” she said.

“I can't wait to be part of the Festival of cycling performing at the official Team Presentation event.”

The Santos Tour Down Under is the opening race of the UCI WorldTour in 2016, and will feature 20 international cycling teams competing for the coveted title. From 16-24 January, the event will feature six stages of cycling across South Australia from Victor Harbor in the Fleurieu Peninsula to Lyndoch in the Barossa Valley, with riders cycling more than 780 kilometres during the event.

The Team Presentation and FREE concert event celebrations kick off at 6pm on Saturday 16 January 2016 in the Adelaide City Council Tour Village.
